The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the result of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2023. A total of 14,624 candidates have qualified for the Mains Examination. The result was declared on the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination was conducted on May 28, 2023. The exam was a two-hour written examination consisting of two papers. The first paper was on General Studies, while the second paper was on Comprehension and Logical Reasoning.
The qualifying marks for the Prelims Examination were 60% for General Category candidates, 50% for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, and 40% for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates.
The Mains Examination will be conducted in two stages: the written examination and the interview. The written examination will be held in October 2023. The interview will be held in February 2024.
The Civil Services Examination is one of the most competitive examinations in India. Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for the exam.
